If you can’t find enough boxes of the same size, try and pack similar size boxes together inside your storage unit. But remember, heavy boxes should go at the bottom of the stack, regardless of the size of the box.

Think Ahead

Some items you will only need once you move your belongings out of storage but there may be others that you know you will need to access on a regular basis. Make a list of these items and be sure to make them accessible by packing them at the entrance of the unit.

Label Your Boxes

Clearly label your boxes and make sure that the labels are visible. Additionally, don’t be vague about what is in the box. Instead, make a heading such as “Kitchen” and then a brief list underneath it with the exact contents such as “coffee cups, plates, bowls, and Pyrex dishes”. The chances are that you will have more than one box for each section of your home, so knowing the details of what’s inside can really save you time and trouble.
